David L. Hull graduated from the University of Auburn in 1984, Tennessee College of Law in 1988, and was admitted to the State of Tennessee Bar in 1989. He was admitted to practice before the United States Federal District Court, Eastern Division in 1990 and became a Child Welfare Law Specialist in 2010 where he held that position until 2018. He worked for the State of Tennessee Department of Children’s Services from 2005 until 2018 where he quickly advanced to Senior Litigator by 2008.
David has more than twenty-five years of experience successfully trying and defending hundreds of civil and criminal matters in private and government sectors before state, federal and administrative courts. He was a founding partner in his own law firm from 1997-2005 where his primary position was as a Litigation Specialist with the task of litigating difficult personal injury cases that could not be resolved through mediation. He has handled domestic relations cases and criminal cases in State and Federal Courts.
David regularly reviews appellate court decisions and new legislation that impacts his work with families and children. He has completed his mediator training and continuously builds and strengthens his attorney-client relationships through personal but professional connections, keeping his clients informed and involved to the extent possible so that the client can make his or her own choices about the legal matters that impact their quality of life.
David has raised three wonderful children with his wife who works to provide services to the elderly on a day to day basis for the past twenty-seven years. He understands the importance of family and finds helping others as a passion.
